Terry Rogers’s roots run deep in Georgia, back to his 4th great grandfather, Arthur Archibald Coody Sr. who served with General James Oglethorpe as a member of the 42nd Ga. Ranger division of the Georgia State Militia.  It's that inherited love for Georgia and community that led Terry to public service.

The son of a career military veteran, Terry spent the early years of his life traveling worldwide around Air Force bases.   When he was 14, his family settled in LaFayette, Georgia.  He graduated from LaFayette High School and attended Berry College where he graduated with a B.A. degree.

After graduation, Terry moved to Habersham County and has been a resident of northeast Georgia ever since. After a successful career in sales, marketing, and banking, Terry used his business skills in 2001 to start Diversified Technologies, a local business dedicated to the brokering of recycled plastics worldwide.  He serves as Managing Partner of the company.

Long active in his community, Rogers chaired the Banks, Rabun and Habersham County Joint Development Authority as well as the Clarkesville Better Hometown Board. He is a former Commissioner and Mayor Pro Tem of the city of Cornelia. Terry is a Rotarian and served on the Executive Board of the Northeast Georgia Council of the Boy Scouts of America.  Georgia Trend magazine has named him one of Georgia's 100 Most Influential Georgians.

First elected in November 2011, Terry proudly represents District 10 which includes Habersham and White Counties. He currently serves As Governor Nathan Deals Senior Floor Leader in the House.  He is Vice Chairman of the House Economic Development and Tourism and also the State Planning and Community Affairs Committees, as well as a member of the Appropriations, Rules, Regulated Industries, Defense and Veteran Affairs, and Human Relations and Aging House committees. He also serves as Governor Deals representative to the Fiscal Affairs Oversight Committee and Speaker David Ralston's appointee to the Georgia World Congress Center Oversight Committee.

Of his many blessings and achievements, Terry is proudest to be the husband of his wife Laura and dad and stepdad to their five children. They have three grandsons, Banks, Andrew, and Jones and one granddaughter, Lila. Terry and Laura live on their farm in Clarkesville and are members of First Presbyterian Church of Clarkesville where he is an Elder.
